Description:
Our client is the world's leading provider of analytics and decision science solutions for the quantification and management of catastrophic risks throughout the world and is currently seeking a Response Analyst to join their Model Management team in London.
The successful candidate will support our real-time response operations, aimed at providing our client's with up to date damage and impact assessments whenever a major hurricane, earthquake, flood or other catastrophic event occurs. The role will involve monitoring world-wide catastrophe events each day and producing written event summaries to tight daily deadlines that will appeal to a wide-based readership. In addition, you will be producing analysis of the affected region, involving querying statistical databases of the building stock, producing maps and generating loss estimates using RMS models.
The ideal candidate will be educated with an MSc in a quantitative subject along with a high level of proficiency in data analysis and data manipulation software tools (Excel, Access), plus a thorough knowledge of GIS software applications, be able to work effectively under pressure, and to be flexible and occasionally prepared to work long or unsocial hours, along with a genuine interest in applying your knowledge of natural hazards in a business environment.
