Our client is the world's leading provider of analytics and decision science solutions for the quantification and management of catastrophic risks throughout the world. They currently seek a Risk Model Developer to join the Climate Hazards Model Development team, where the ideal candidate will work with meteorologists, statisticians, hydrologists, climate scientists, engineers, geophysicists, software professionals and actuariesResponsibilities include
•Carrying out research, leading, guiding and supporting the development of models
•Identifying new areas or focus on topics within existing modeled perils
•Investigating methodologies and innovative strategies to improve modelling strategies and accuracy
•Using state-of-the-art technologies for extreme event regional modelling applications
•Managing and statistically evaluating large amounts of data, testing, calibrating and validating hazard and risk models
To be considered for the role in this dynamic company, the ideal candidate will be PhD qualified within one of the following applied mathematics, atmospheric physics, climatology, environmental science, fluid dynamics, geophysics, meteorology, statistics, wind engineering with a good understanding of probabilistic/stochastic modelling and experience with a common computer language e.g. C++. There will also be an occasional opportunity for overseas travel.
